Have you ever been interested in backpacking but never knew who to talk to about it? Well, now is your chance to ask all those questions! You’ll have one hour to chat with a backpacking instructor about equipment, what food to pack, water purification, and plenty of other topics (ask about LNT). No sign up needed, so feel free to walk in after a hike through the Arcata Community Park.

Trinidad Rancheria History and Land Management
Deepen your knowledge and connection to Trinidad's coastal environments through the Trinidad Coastal Naturalist Training. You will learn how to inspire an awareness and appreciation for the natural and cultural resources found on our Trinidad coastline. For those who complete 25 hours of training and volunteering, you will receive a Trinidad Coastal Naturalist Certificate.

60-Minute Beach Cleanup at Samoa Beach
Pacific Outfitter’s (PacOut) Green Team is at it again, another week another beach to clean! This week's clean up will be located at Samoa Beach Park with the focus of maintaining the beach, dunes & parking lot. “Home of the weekly 60 minute cleanup!” so no need to tell you how long it will be, see ya out there.

Climate-Ready Dune Walk
Learn about coastal ecology with the Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge. Currently, there are 32 miles of sediment being tracked along the coastline through the Dunes Climate Ready Study, learn about the changes and what are the causes and effects of the ever-changing dunes.

Master Stargazing Workshop
This two day course is an incredible interactive, hands-on use of telescopes in the field. Stargaze amongst the tall trees in Redwood National and State Park. The first day is an informative workshop and prep for the stargazing night. The second day of the work shop will be on September 29th where you will meet at 6:30pm and use the telescopes to view different features in the sky.

Redwood Pride (Formally Humboldt Pride)
Come and celebrate the annual Redwood Pride Parade, followed by multiple performances and activities. Be sure to show up early (11:30a recommended) to get a stellar spot to watch the parade pass by!

Introduction to Indoor Climbing
Join the fun of climbing with this intro course offered at the HSU climbing wall! Climb instructors will show you the ropes of belaying and rappelling, along with safety considerations and climbing techniques. No experience necessary, a harness and climbing shoes will be provided but bring a pair of socks if you will be borrowing their climbing shoes. See you on the wall
